2009 Entry: Dance of the Chairs

As long as the music is playing, there are no losers.

We learned of Community Warehouse a few years ago. They are a volunteer-based nonprofit agency that collects and redistributes household goods to families in need, at no cost to them. Not only did it give us a place to donate good, gently used items, but we could see that the volunteers truly cared about their mission to assist those less fortunate.

In 2007, they decided to organize an event to raise money for a much needed truck, and the Chair Affair was born. The annual event brings fifty plus artists together, each creating and donating an art chair (or chair-themed piece of art) that is eventually auctioned off to the highest bidder.

2007 Entry: Scrabble Chair
